We reduced the price of the CD As the Leaves Fall to 9 EUR. If that’s still to high, you can buy the album online for 5 EUR. And if even that is too high, you can just download the songs and listen what kind of crazy stuff we’ve made.

Matt commented my post “So it’s end of the June soon” saying “Time for another update Wille ? :D” It definitely is. :-)
First of all, I have to state the facts. I’m sad to announce something I think you knew already: From Ashes is in frozen state and is likely to hibernate until further notice. We hang around together sometimes, but haven’t rehearsed for half an year and are not planning to start playing again. This is mostly because I haven’t written a single song for three years. Well, I’ve written something, but nothing I’m satisfied with.
The good news are: We eventually have a schedule for the long-awaited EP. :-) I just talked with Arttu and Otto and decided that the drums will be recorded on the first or the second week of January ‘09. So the release of the EP is likely to be on March ‘09, if all goes as planned. If you’re desperate about the songs, drop me some email and I’ll see what I can do. ;-)

So, what’s going on? asked Gardien in a comment. Well, in short, we’re going to record a three song ep, most probably as an internet release. Everything is ready to start the recording, but it’s still a question of time and resources. If things go as planned, we’ll gather to rehearse and plan on Saturday.
The three songs on the EP are not going to be radically different from the debut album – except for the vocals. But the songs are great anyway, so it’s worth waiting. :-) If it looks this project will be delayed much longer, I’ll publish my demo versions then.

Heh. It seems we haven’t started recording yet. Can’t say when we’ll start, but everything is basically ready. I can tell you that the delay is partly because of some quite positive personal reasons this time. :-)
Demos for three songs already completed.
Hi folks. I’ve been away from the city for a week now and besides doing my pay work I’ve been busy playing and recording. I’ve recorded now demos for songs: Scars, Blood for Blood and Left (workname). I think they sound pretty close to the final version, only vocals are not yet recorded for Left.
We’re still sticking to the plan to start the real recordings in June. What I’ll do next is go through my library of old compositions and see if there’s something that should be included among these. It would be great to ask from you which you’d like to hear. Only problem is that no one outside the band has ever heard those songs. :-)
Hi. There has been a lot of requests to press new shirts for the band. I think this time we should go with a longsleeved shirt, so you hardcore fans who have the old t-shirt with old logo can wear these two simultaneously.

It’s been one year and a pair of months since the release of our album. It’s not that much, but it feels like there has been an age of silence with From Ashes as it was 2005 when we began recording the album and hardly anything besides it happened before 2007. Now, however, From Ashes is alive again. Otto is a real professional with drums and I feel being like a decent singer too, so it would definetely be wrong time to quit now. So, we’re glad to announce that if all goes well, we’ll begin recording a new ep in June. The EP will be kind of an intermission before we’ll relelase another full-length album hopefully next year. The EP will consist of 4 or 5 songs I composed in years 2002-2005. After spring 2005 I quit composing since I felt like losing all inspiration. I’m glad to tell you I’ve been composing again and the story of From Ashes will continue. Now, however, we will present you some pearls of my composing years, which have been unreleased for one reason or another. You should also expect a lot better sound quality on the EP than before, since we’ve learned from our mistakes!

Hi! I just got an email from our photographer and he said he sent me the CD containing the pics from the gig at Nokia. So, I think I’ll be getting it tomorrow. Great!
